Resources

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. In Australia, these areas of learning are guided by the National STEM School Education Strategy (2016–2026).

STEM education is more than teaching the four subjects separately – it’s also about bringing them together in a cross-disciplinary way. This approach helps children see real-world connections, builds curiosity, and strengthens problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

While STEM is an important part of a child’s learning, it also sits within a balanced education. Alongside literacy, the arts, and other subjects, STEM provides the foundational knowledge and skills young learners need to thrive in an ever-changing world.
